HashBean 420 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 some people told me yes and some said no...so whats the real answer?
Trâgîk Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Its not really the smartest thing to do but alot of people do it. Its can vibrate things loose inside the amp and cause problems with the longevity of the amp. Some people put rubber bushings on the feet when they do it to give it some cushin. But me personally wouldnt do it -----SELLING EVERYTHING---- 2 DC sound labs 3.5k's (still avail) 2 HDC312A D1's (still avail) 5 XS Power Batteries (1 d3400 and 1 d1200 left) 4 runs of knukoncepz 0 gauge (have all the wire still) DC power 270XP alt (sold) RF T1 6.5 components (both sold) Powerbass XAX 4160 (still avail) Custom built box 4.75^3 tuned 34hz (still avail)
moto211 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 well yes and no , no because the amps might shake loose or shake parts loose , yes if you are running out of room and have no where to put them ... if you do mount them on the box use stand offs or rubber , something that will help stop the vibration CHECK OUT MY YOU TUBE PAGE http://www.youtube.com/user/motoxxx211?feature=mhee[/size]
97SSBlazer Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 If you like you amps I wouldn't. If you are going to, you better brace the hell out of the box... lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz. -= 2005 Tahoe LT =-Head unit: Pioneer AVH-X5500BHSSource: iPad Mini in dash Subs: 2 T1 12's Sub Amp: T1500-1bdCPWire: Rockford Fosgate 1/0 awgSignal Cable: MonsterFronts:Stock Bose for now:)Rears: Stock Bose for now:)MIds/High amp: Stock Bose for now:) 2005 Tahoe Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/172529-2005-tahoe-my-17th-vehicle/ 2001 Monte Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/160030-2001-monte-carlo-my-16th-car-lol/page-2#entry25309381997 Tahoe Build Log: http://www.stevemead...oe-6-15-rf-15s/2001 Impala Build Log: http://www.stevemead...katzkin-inside/
corey0928 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 If your box doesn't flex really I don't see why you cant
Guest Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 my 10 year old RF amp and my audioque amp are both mounted to my box and i havent had a single problem.
Rockbrook Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 ehhhh personally i wouldnt unless i was running some small shit like 8's or some low powered 10's
Amerrricuh Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 other then breaking the mounts on my amp (planet audio) when it was mounted to my box i havent had a problem with it. but i wouldnt suggest it. vibration can ruin things especially little parts in a amp over time. Trâgîk Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Yeah some people dont have problems. If your box is flexin because its not braced and shit then you might have some problems. -----SELLING EVERYTHING---- 2 DC sound labs 3.5k's (still avail) 2 HDC312A D1's (still avail) 5 XS Power Batteries (1 d3400 and 1 d1200 left) 4 runs of knukoncepz 0 gauge (have all the wire still) DC power 270XP alt (sold) RF T1 6.5 components (both sold) Powerbass XAX 4160 (still avail) Custom built box 4.75^3 tuned 34hz (still avail)
