Kevin M Posted October 4, 2012 Author Report Posted October 4, 2012 Got some more done today. Really wish I had a router. Cutting that baffle was killing my jigsaw. Here are a few pictures. Glued the baffle real well. The pieces were seamless. Decided to rock it sealed for a while. I can always cut the baffle to attach a port so it's no big deal. Kevin M Posted October 9, 2012 Author Report Posted October 9, 2012 Made a little more progress today. I got the bottom of the wall glassed. 3 layers thick. I ran out of resin so it will be a couple weeks before I can finish everything. It is taking much less time than the last wall build and I have a garage now so I can't complain. I built a lower trim piece to seal the bottom. The last wall didn't have one and I am certain that hurt my output. I also redid the rear windows. The last time I did them they still had those silly stickers in the back about child seat belts or something so I took them off with a razor knife. It is one of the few pictures of me without a collared shirt on. I'm prep baby lol I am auditioning a pair of 8" midranges over the next couple of days to see how they integrate into the system. They will be crossed at 300 24db slope and the doors will play 300 down. (same slope) The carpet is behind them to minimize the backwave so I can get some decent impressions on how they sound and whether they are a good match for the frontstage. So much more to do and I will have more updates as we go along. Video of the 8" tomorrow or the next day. Was in bed most of the day from this damn cold. I am writing through a haze of several otc goodies in an effort to kick it's ass. There is still some eq'ing to be done which won't happen till I can get a 30 band in there but the results are still impressive. I used my ipod to film the video so the sound came out better than hoped. Here are the song times so you can skip through... What do you guys think?
