skittlesRgood Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 True but on a daily setup, there is more range in the music frequencies than just a one hit wonder for world records. 4-5k on a 4" is plenty power I would think if a 4" coil has better range than a 3" coil, why are SQ subs not 4" coils? how does the coil size alone make a difference on range of music? If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood. kryptonite Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 I don't mean that the 4" is better sq, I'm saying the changes in frequency in songs, coupled with the need for a 150 daily out of a 12" would be better handled without distortion or damage by the 4". Yes a 3" coil has been used in more subs than a 4", but it is weaker DC SOUND LAB NUT HUGGERCurrently Own 4 - 18" lvl 6s (m3) w/full Carbon Fiber option 2 - DC 5k lvl 4 motor lvl 2 motor On 8/2/2013 at 8:13 PM, n8ball2013 said: this is much worse. OrionStang Posted March 7, 2011 Author Report Posted March 7, 2011 I've decided on a lvl5 on a pair of 2k's strapped at .7 ohms. Here are my rough box numbers, sub up/port back, I have another idea for sub and port back. Trunk space is obviously an issue with the Mustang. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

Robert8252 Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 I would do sub back port back. Are those dimensions max? I'd aim closer to 20" port per cube. That sub is going to be moving a lot of air. 2013 F150 Crew Cab Old Build Log Feedback 2013 F150 Equipment - Some Awesome Stereo Sound Making Stuff

I'd go with the first one personally, more port area c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress
OrionStang Posted March 7, 2011 Author Report Posted March 7, 2011 I could probably bump up the port area a little on both designs. The dimensions are max to build outside the car and get the box in in one piece. The first one through the back seat opening, the second through the trunk. I'll try for 2 cubes and 40" of port.
