Like I said, I know nothing about tint, thank you for correcting me. and usually any film under 5% is some garbage tint. Good film companies (llumar, suntek, etc) dont make a film lower then 5% that Im aware of. Would you consider Solar Guard a good film company? Because that is what the shop put on my car, and it has held up great, and other peoples cars that have been to the same shop to get tinted have been perfectly fine too. Good film companies (llumar, suntek, etc) dont make a film lower then 5% that Im aware of. I run suntek carbon 5% on my tahoe and can barly see in the side windows in daylight. I also installed some 5% llumar on a boat for a friend and its the same way for the most part. zayres29 Posted March 17, 2011 Report Share Posted March 17, 2011 5% of 5 is .25 say you have no tint (which in reality is 70% in most cases) you put 5% on your window will meter 3.5% so if you put 2.5% over that your looking at .0875% .... not a good idea IMO REAL good quality 5% should be plenty in any case Quote Btw that was the first person.
