AMI CUSTOMS
Non the less I must admit I had a good chuckle with the post above. You stating its not a port then turn right around and say you would like to extend the port sorry I was just dumbing it down so you'd understand. TheyDontWantMusic
that is long enough for maybe a 70hz line? 40-50'' is what it looks like. and no where near enough port for a tline that is a ported box I think you're confused. if its a ported box, whats it tuned to? which part are you counting as the box, and which is the port? It's not a Tline, but a ported box. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
TheyDontWantMusic
seeing as i designed it, i know its a transmission line. If you think its a ported box please inform us all which part is the box and which is the port?

If you think its a ported box please inform us all which part is the box and which is the port? just a heads up, the dayton woofer tester measures the boxes resonant frequency as 26 - 28Hz, so good luck finding a 27Hz tuning frequency if you think its a ported box. J.Reed
Im not familiar with the dayton woofer tester, but isn't that for test t/s parameters of a speaker not an enclosure resonance? Maybe there is a way to. As I said im not familiar with it. If so I would like more info on this. You using a program or using real world results for this Fb=27Hz? In car or free air? Not to mention the 27Hz could indicate more like a 37Hz ish tune would it not seeing as "properly designed t-line" is usually flat around 10Hz below tuning? Again I cant put my hands on this enclosure nor have you provided even a tidbit of reasonable info to do anything with other then a pic. BTW to answer what I think the other two are getting at is in a true T-line. The port area should be = to the drivers Sd. Yours is CLEARLY not indicating a ported enclosure style and function. The ones I have seen getting away from this are tapered and stuffed t-lines starting at Sd of the drivers and tapering from there. Again yours clearly is not. Sure your 3db down is not 27Hz? Thats not a lot of port area to net with that much cone and x-mas. I could see it dragging quite lower then tuning. So I as well as im sure others would LOVE to hear your philosophy on why you consider this a t-line and what method you used to design it.
AMI CUSTOMS
My thoughts, looks like a ported box to me too. You need more cow bell?
