nickers Posted April 19, 2011 Report Share Posted April 19, 2011 i have a TMA t2 360.2 which is basically a JL j2 360.2 with a different name plate. anyways it says the max size wire it can handle is 4 gauge, i put it with 8 gauge with a 40 amp fuse in line which is what the amp is and as soon as i connect the power it sparks and pops the fuses. i dont get it. the same thing happened to my j2 1000.1 except it blew the amp up with the appropriate wire and fuses. chevrolet all day er day. Guest Posted April 19, 2011 Report Share Posted April 19, 2011 first thing that pops into my head is the power wire is grounding out somewhere along the line. make sure the power cable does not have a cut in the insulation ANYWHERE. check the fuse block too for loose/frayed wires. even 1 strand of wire touching bare metal can cause the symptoms you listed.
