94retta(219)
Firstly dont expect 2500watts. Its not a perfect world. But i plan on it for awhile... I dont see it being a issue for a few min at full tilt. But dont be stupid and run it for 30min full tilt. Think about it. Your car is useing about 70-90amps of that alt. The rest is for your amp. One that is fused at 200amps it self. Everyone should think about that.. But they still ask this question.. No its not doing it right. But hell yeah it can be done. hdorre
how much do 200 amp dc alt's go for? I would guestimate somewhere between $350-650 depending on the car and "model" alternator. Have you looked into Mechman? Their alt was well over one hundred dollars cheaper for the quotes I got. Guest
i honestly do not see a problem with your electrical and running that amp. yes you will have voltage drop but its not going to be "OH MY GOD MY AMP IS GOING TO FUCKING BLOW CAUSE I SEE 12V!!" as everyone here seems to be indicating to you. while driving i stay at +14v with a 10+ year old 70 amp alternator (with big 3) and a 3 year old walmart battery with my 2 amplifiers. ChevyBoy95
Big extra battery and a nice one up front ant you will have slight voltage drop but probably nothing below 12.5 Quote Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/
