Question for those in Ca or who ever

Recommended Posts

Sometime this year I'll be moving to Sacramento Ca for school. I'm just trying to decide if I should drive or sell the car and use the money take Greyhound out there, then buy another car out there. Reason I ask is cause here in Ky we don't emisions testing and I've been told most cars won't pass emisions in Ca unless it was sold in Ca. Is this true?

as long as all emissions pass, it'll pass in CA. but our emissions testing have got to be the strictest. it sucks <_<

If you bought the car in another state as a resident of said state, you can bring it here. But yes, smog can be hard to pass for some vehicles. If your car doesn't pass, you can still get temporary registration until you pay for the parts or repairs so it will pass.

Well what would be the best way to go, far as I know all the emisions stuff on my car is orginal to it. Its a 1993 Taurus so its gettin old, well for a car anyways. Oh it only has 122k on it as of now, but it will be higher by the time I get my stuff together for school.

How many times the tranny go out on that?

If you can scrounge up $1000 for a beater then take greyhound sellyour car for whatever. I don't know, that's what id do. I doubt that taurus would make the trip in all honesty.

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

I'd sell it. From what I thought I heard, that a lot of the other states are basing there emissions testing by California standards. But that's newer cars . Some of the other states have actual inspections of the cars, we don't.
