I dont care for the fusing. I can understand why it is in place but from a judgeing stand point creates more headache than its worth. I can see where people could fabricate or have made blocks with cheater bars on it. With battery limits you can only pull so many amps limiting the amount of power that can be generated.

This is why I like fusing. I'm going to give two scenarios... (This actually just happened at the last DbDrag show. A kid from another shop in town with a fairly nice daily oriented system was put in Street A vs a burp box.)

Customer 1: 1990 Honda CRX, two DD 1510's, DD 1,000 rms amplifier, 3.0cu^ft enclosure tuned @ 36Hz, stock charging system, 4ga wire to amplifier.

Customer 2: 1990 Honda CRX, two DD Z10's, 2 sound digital 16k's (32,000rms), 1.0cu^ft enclosure tuned @ 65hz, upgraded battery & Alt, 32 runs of 3/0 wire to amplifiers.

Dg drag:

Customer 1: In dbDrag street A does 138db @ 40Hz on the glass. He spent a good amount of money on his system so he could be loud on music everyday, all day.

Customer 2: In dbDrag street A does a 153db @ 70Hz on the glass. He spent a ridiculous amount of money on his system so he could be loud at 70hz for 3 secs at comps only.

Meca:

Customer 1: In Meca Street 1 does a 137db @ 40hz on the headrest w/35amp fuse before his amplifier.

Customer 2: In Meca Street 1 does a 137db @ 70Hz on the headrest w/35amp fuse before his 32,000w rms amplifiers.

Now lets say Customer 2 wants to see that 153 in Meca. Then he moves up in classes that is more suited for his power. Yet by doing that its going to get very competitive.

Me being a retailer enjoys being able to tell all my customers to compete in an organization that allows them to be competitive no matter how much money they have. The fuse evens the playing field, period.

Plus, I don't remember the last time I was playing my system with the windows up and my ear plastered against the front windshield? So you being able to roll down you windows and having the Mic at the headrest make the most sense, doesn't it? lol

I understand what you mean here, and 153 in a crx with 2 dd z10's on 32k Rms?? Unless it's a god awful designed it would be way higher hah, but I like the fusing in meca, makes it relatively fair, although I don't like how if I was going to compete I'd have to remember to change fuses.

c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old.

i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer.

Just an example.... No factual information there.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)
