Make your own fence or save up for a table saw. My table saw if at lease 25 years old and we have a "custom made" table. Its like 7 feet wide and 4 feet deep. So I can run a whole sheet of anything across it in one run.

The fence isnt the best. But most of my cuts are straight.

most of the time, I just use a circular saw (didnt have the cash for a table saw I would seldom use). but sometimes I bust out a piece of 1/2" aluminum angle and use that as a saw guide. TheyDontWantMusic had a good idea too, just make sure the piece of MDF you use is straight

If it's one of the manufacturers edges then it will be almost perfectly straight.

I agree with what was said earlier, i used to have this problem also. Just go really slow, you will get faster as you get more practice. But the slower you go the better you will get it, and its worth it to take your time. A table saw is great, but unless you have a table with it big enough for a sheet of mdf you wont have much better luck cutting a straight line with it either. IMO...

I measure every piece with a square before I cut into it and have gotten more than a few that were at least 1/16"+ off....
