Hi !

I am very pleased to being invited andsee that some of you like my installs.

As I like Steves installs also, I think I am right here :)

I apologize for not answering here for so long, but I am

so busy with all that doings and on top of that, I plan

my 2008 ÜSA Trip what guides me across the States (8000 miles)

and also I will have the chance to visit Steve (and some others)

in Sacramento, if possible. Maybe watch out in the TermPro

Forum about my posting what I will make soon.

Maybe your on my way and we can meet together...

Ok, to the cars:

Even if I am successful in dB Drag with big burp numbers,

I do like the real sounding and pounding cars !

Always competed with this cars and had good results also.

Just once in the past I did a car just for dB Drag purposes.

Made some records and titles, but that never realy satisfied me

more than even my Sony X Plod car, what is still amazing

when you see the "low budget" equipment. 155 dB with 80 Dollar woofers,

death match, 250 competitions in 2 years and many many heavy demos

(some remember me at world finals 2004). And NO FAILURE ! Changed to better

equipment then, Cerwin Vega subs and Zapco Amps. 155,8 in Bass Race was

the result :) Subs will be replaced by some Atomics soon, will

gain a bit more then hehe.

Also my cars ALWAYS are built by a kind of System what

doesnt need extra holes or removing panels. Basically you can

put everything out on every car I built, and never think

about such heavy installations what were in there.

The silver VW, the TÜRANN, is my newest "Thing" what came

along with my 2007-? Sponsoring by ACR, europes biggest

car media specialist. You may think that I got these Zapco

goodies for free, but that isnt the case :) All what you see was

purchased by myself up from the year 2001. At the moment I own

close to 40 9.0 amps and another 40 Zapco amps together with

a lot more amps of other brands (40?50?). Yes, I COULD build a lot of loud

cars with all that stuff. Must have 200+ subs laying around here :)

But I like my babies how they are, but who knows what future brings...

And yes, I used up to 6 year old amps

during this season in my newest car ! (basically just the power of 2 9.0).

That is why I like QUALITY Equipment like Zapco ! Steve also knows what I am speaking of !

See the setup from the main time of the year here :

http://www.dbdrag.de/~oki/tuerannbau2007/t...nnstagezero.jpg

The 4KWs cages you see in the early pics are the "famous"

dB Drag World Finals 4KWs from 2000 and 2001 what were used

for the world champ titles in the street classes. I originally

got them from Jeff Sweere (Sweet Sounds), btw. many thanks !

My goal is to build really clean cars what sound perfect and

pound the ground. Here in Germany we have strict regulations about

cars. The tech checks are hard and we are not allowed to do everything

we want. And a big problem is the weight. So I never overloaded my cars,

maybe just in a 5-15% range, what is MAYBE acceptable. Thats why I have

to be creativ. I always use good and expensive beech plywood, but it was

too heavy for the TÜRANN project. So I just use 1/2 inch birch plywood

for the TÜRANN enclosure. Can you imagine that? But its stiff like hell

bc I built it like my model planes in the past. The car has close to 200 hp

and goes up to 140 miles an hour, so that security is a MUST !

As I said, not ONE damn extra hole is drilled into that car !

I can remove everything within a few days, and basically put it into

another car if its the same model (VW Touran). That give s me some

disadvantages in the lanes sometimes, bc others just put everything in,

use foam everywhere, or even weld and cut things, but I rather stick

to my system. And you can look into the smallest corner of the whole installation,

you will see no dust, no foam, no dirt.

I do almost everything by myself, but I got a lot of help also.

Fro big Wood works I can use a professional shop, but not very often.

Usually every two years for a new car, just after work hours and

for a few days. So I have to plan very accurate what is to do.

For heavy things I get help from friends (I had an accident and

have diabilities since 1992). So 100% are out of my brain, and

about 95% out of my body :) But the 5% of help I need, are important !

So thank you to all people out there, lifting my sh!t sometimes :)

I have no real installer shop. Just the house. When I am in the driveyard

where I install everything, I am just able to open one door each time :)

6 cars are standing around here now. Some are not registered.

Maybe I will make a pic of all, sometimes I put them together

when I hold one of my events (up to 170 competitors and 800 visitors).

I am a founder of a german Sound Quality

organisation , AYA (Are you Authentic? www.ayasound.de just German)

and I participate veery successfully with all my cars in that

competitions. I even got "best sound of the day" sometimes

and all that with such monster machines. Once, with my "famous" Ü2 car,

some heared it in 2002 in NAshville,

I got 2nd place german champion in EMMA Sound Quality, just beaten by

the best sounding car of the competition, a 50K install in a Porsche GT2.

Same car stood in the dB Drag lanes in Nashville little later :)

The TÜRANN was built to promote my sponsors products (even if some

parts are already out of my inventory). Its participating at

SPL and SQ competitions and also on car shows. (Had 110 participations

in 2007). Favorite competition format is Bass Race !

High score so far is officially 156,8, but done with just 4 9.0s.

For german finals I put 15 9.0s in the car, but the speakers (cheap versions) couldnt withstand

the power, so they broke at the first burp in the test lane (159,6 dB)

and every run, score got lower and lower that I lost more and more dbs.

But it was ok for an official 158 burp and at least euopean champ in

Bass Race 159,9 class and 2nd place against Tommy, still the King of Bass :)

Also german champ in dB Drag (what is my 12th german dB Drag title in

10 years in a row). I didnt count my titles, must be well over 30

national and international ones, together with the 2 all time highs

in dB Drag Racing Points, what makes me still the career points leader

in dB Drag. Not everything by intention, it just came along by the

hobby I do now since 1989. I dont know where to put all the trophies anymore.

Must be around 500 now, up to 100" tall (try to get this one from the US

to your home in a plane)

Even my first car was well known around the

area, and it became more and more and more.

The TÜRANN should end up with about 19 9.0 what I think, is then the

highest amount of Zapco 9.0s ever mounted into a car. Famous Big Jim had 18.

Heres the "plan" of the equipment what should be in:

http://www.dbdrag.de/~oki/tuerannbau2007/tuerannstagetwo.jpg

and here:

http://www.dbdrag.de/~oki/tuerannbau2007/t...nstagetwo90.jpg

But it changes every minute :)

So the car is still under construction. New Woofers with Neodymium

Motors will follow (such as the DD Z Series) and I hope that I

will get the 160+ finally, hopefully for Bass Race.

Front system must have a neccessarly SPL update, but must produce

real good SQ also. And another thing what I prefer is

not spending too much time on a built! Id rather go out in the

world and have some fun with my rides instead of sitting in

the garage all day long and having maybe one or two dbs more than others.

I want to share and meet people out there. Life is too short to waste

it in the garage. But still a few hundred hours a year are needed to

keep the cars up to date. Thats for sure.

New car never will be the dB Drag World Record thing, but its not my intention.

It should be may dream setup with ability to produce my favourite

Music as loud as I WANT ! User should set the limit, not the equipment :)

And the car must have the "WOW" factor, even for people what

have no relation to Car Audio.

19 9.0 are capable to do 76Kilowatts at 16 Volt Setup on Minimum Load

(about REAL 3,2 Ohms for 4 Ohm Model). I "just" use them on a 12 Volt Setup

with a 4 Ohm Load (1,8 Ohm coils), and "just" 16 of them on the Subs.

So "just" about 2200 Watts out of one 9.0, but EASY !

When you see that I have 158 dB with 10K Watts, then every amp

works totally relaxed close to 160 dB and that fact makes me smile and my mouth wet.

Also just count the cost of 19 9.0, or say 9 1/2 4KWs together,

then the over 800-1000 Work hours, that car (2 years old 40K$)

with rims (12k just the wheels),

the new 8 speakers what will cost over 3100 Dollars each

and so on. Must make the jaws drop...

Big Investments made by ME and I hope to get them out by the promotion

thing. Thanks to ACR giving me the opportunity !

Ok, some may say, with all that money, it must be louder and you could do it cheaper...

Yes, THE EQUIPMENT CAN do louder, I even do more dBs with two woofers

and half the power in my dB Drag car, but not at 33 hz and with

clear sounding music and looking MEAN :) Its the mix between SQ, SPL and good looking

together with a install system what is road legal.

So its a thing of QUALITY ! Not just Quantity, ok, letz say a lot of Quality Quantity, lol...

And, even if it doesnt look like, I am limited on a bugdet hehe.

Some may understand me, some not. I cannot satisfy the whole world.

I tried once, but I failed. Just made my days harder...

So I have still a long way to go, but the way is the goal.

And it makes fun to work on the car SOMETIMES, and more fun to drive around

to the shows and make some people happy with demonstrations, as you can see

on my videos. Timothy already digged almost everything out, hehe.

Its on my site www.sqpl.de. Many links of pics and vids and reports

about my ÜSA trips. This year, as I said, will visit as much people

as possible in over 6 weeks. And this report will be in

english language also.

So let me know if you have more questions.

As I said, my time is very limited these days

but I try to respond from time to time, if needed.

And I am looking forward to meet some of you

when I am in the states. Let me know in the TP forum.

The Topic will be there in the next two weeks.

Some more links about some (not all)

reports about me and my doings from 2001 to now are here:

http://www.realsqpl.de/okipresse.htm

(again, all in german, sorry)

Üüüühh!!!

Michael :P

PS:While typing this novel, Steve checked my mail

and so it will happen (80% for sure) that I will come

to Sacramento Friday Jan 11th to meet up with some folks

and have some fun !

Thanks Steve for letting me into your forum.

Its an honor for me ! (And you see I fill it also

with LOTS of words, dont fall asleep :) )

I guess we bow down to each other for a while,

bc your cars are awsome too. That would be

a nice pic seeing both of us on our knees,

letz do that when I am there, haha !

I will look into some pics of my cars and will make

seperate sites for them and post some pics here maybe.

If just my time wasnt so limited :(

But I will start to look into your great forum and

maybe here and there I will drop my "sprinkles" hehe.

Thanks again, I am enjoying it already !

I feel like home here with the groundpounders and

already know some of you personally.

Like Timothy and Randy (assman).

And the more will follow, THE BETTER !

So keep it pounding !
