'91 Civic Hatch | (1)15" on 500 watts 31Hz | Low Power Bigger Output

Recommended Posts

Nice to see another 91 civic on here :)

but our setups are a little different ;)

OH yeah, I checked your out man. I wouldn't mind a fast car, just don't have the experience/knowledge to do engine modding myself, or the money and trust to put into someone else to do it. Your set up is fucking crazy by the way. If I ever end up keeping this car for may more years to come, and got the money for it, will be turning it into a 4x15" show car!

hehe thanks man... ya im more of turning it into a show car now.... starting to get out of the whole "go fast" stage lol

Haha well, I don't really like really fast, I just want something that if I am in a position where i need to speed up quick to merge into a lane. I am not praying my 1.5L can get me from 40 to 70 fast enough lol.

fuck the plating. look at what the main metal used is. you could buy unicorn blood plated terminals but if its just covering up dog shit, whats the point

I think I seen that a while back too. I am not really interested in numbers so a 3db difference won't make the choice for me. The thing I am more interested in the two, as they are the same RMS and priced damn close to eachother, is the FS between the two is different by around 6-8 Hz, can't remember exactly. I am looking for a low end daily machine, and that's what I know the skars will do.

lower fs means better lows am i correct? from a spec sheet standpoint i know it doesnt mean everything

but skars show Fms and sundowns show a fs rating, are they the thing? idk either ones im sure will be a nice upgrade! i just wanna get a handle on their specs. Im considering maybe doing 2 of the 12s from either as well

Here is VVX 12

  • Re : 3.8 ohms
  • Fms : 22.1 Hz
  • Res : 101.8 ohms
  • Qms : 4.57
  • Qes : 0.45
  • Qts : 0.41
  • Rms : 10.0 kg/s
  • Cms : 0.16 mm/N
  • Mms : 330.8 gr
  • Nref :0.14%
  • Bl : 19.8 n/a
  • SPL : 83.3 dB
  • Vas : 59.2 L
  • Rp : 33.3 ohms
  • Lp : 60.0 mH
  • Cp : 1126.1 uF
  • Le : 3.37 mH
  • Rms : 600 Watts
  • 2.5" Voice Coil

Here is the SA-12

Re: 4.57 ohms

Fs: 33.71 Hz

VAS: 21.21 L

Qes: 0.58

Qms: 5.34

Qts: 0.52

Le: 3.40 mH

BL: 21.64 NA

Mms: 280 g

Sens: 83.21

RMS: 600 Watts

I believe Fs and Fms are the same thing.

According to this, the SA is a bit more on the better side. Has a stronger motor force, better control and a few other things.

I am currently talking to snafu about getting a TORK2 kit with a few more spots since I will be running 13 devices off my remote lead.

Along with getting all this today, I will be getting a Skar Audio IVX-15 on friday and two sets of RF Prime 6/15 comp sets, one up front and one in the back.
