REVOofRustler Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 For those of you that may still be intrigued as to what I'm gonna do with the DC 8's that I bought from Cody.... I'm not using them for myself. My nephew, who's 15, whenever he came up here to visit, I gave him a demo and he instantly fell in love with bass. Got a job at chik-fil-a, and started saving. Then he started asking me about what I can do for him as far as pricing on gear and a box and all that good stuff and he was heartbroken when he learned how expensive the hobby gets. His parents got him an 06 dodge Dakota quad cab for his birthday in April, so I told him I'd do a small, single 10" setup for him. But apparently there's barely any room under the seats for a custom box for a beefy 10". So last night I sent him a pic of the 8's and told him happy belated birthday. I'll be doing everything for him free of charge whenever I get down to south Carolina, and I'll be building an under the seat enclosure for both 8's, one on each side, then I'll be powering them with my hifonics bxi1610 which will either be placed behind the back of the seat, or run neatly under the front seat. Needless to say, he shit his pants when he got that text lol. So, pardon the interruption, carry on to my shitty build. I'd love to see pictures of the Dakota install when it gets done! I'm doin my system in my 02 Dakota Club cab. I'm not sure how much space is under the seats in the quad cabs, but I know for sure I'd be pretty hard pressed to fit an enclosure under my back seat, even for an 8.
