The reason people tune them higher is because they can play low web with a higher tuning. Most people tune their DD between 33-37 hz. Iirc, it's because the DDs are super stiff, so you don't have to worry about unloading (I think). Anyways, I ran a DD 3515 and it killed the lows on only 200 watts, flexing my back wall, roof, and making the mirrors go crazy, and that was tuned at 36 hz. Just wanted to say that. N8. kam311 Posted July 1, 2011 Report Share Posted July 1, 2011 i dont think kicker is a "bad" brand and i dont think anyone else here does either, but we are just pretty much saying do your homework, not only will you most likely save money, you may even get a sub you like more. but i love me some kicker cvr's for $70 a piece!!!!!!!! i reccomend them to a lot of kids on tight budgets that still want to hit kind hard (1000watts or less) so far...
