Team_DC-Derrick Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 direct comparison, the SMD sub is NOT a SPL sub... from people who were doing comparisons to other subs... its a SQL sub, but not SPL sub, OP if you are looking at straight LOUD AS SHIT.. DC lvl 5 AA mayhems IA wardens or something along their line... there are quite a few subs out there, but if you want loud as shit, I do not think you would be happy with the SMD every time ive heard the SMDs in person, they sound AMAZING, and unless you got 40kw to make them loud, they seem pretty hard to make loud... for a SQ sub, they are amazing though The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... OP : if you want to be loud, but on the safe side, you can get 2 smaller subs. 4000 watts rms to a single woofer is not easy to do without blowing anything. With your budget, you can get 2 Fi btl 12" , or 2 DC XL, for example. If you want to be very loud, be sure to build the right box. Let some specialist design you a good box for your goals. black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats. 2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a sealed box.
