Moofs
From what I'm told, 1000-1500 usually depending on the car. Apparently the formula is battery voltage X how many camps alternator is. So lets say 13.8 volts X 70amp alt = 966. correct me if I'm wrong. I'm new and dont know much. BassJunkie
Depends on how big your stock alt is. Some cars come with 60 amps, some cars come with 145 amps. So as stated above what kind of vehicle? From what I'm told, 1000-1500 usually depending on the car. Apparently the formula is battery voltage X how many camps alternator is. So lets say 13.8 volts X 70amp alt = 966. correct me if I'm wrong. I'm new and dont know much. Thats just how many watts your alt produces. mrd6
Like everyone says it really depends on the vehicle. Ive seen some trucks stock that can support 2000watts no problem but my car has bad voltage drop with the setup in my sig to the point where i can't even reach full tilt before its dropping below 12v on a rollup Quote My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL

CaptainzPlanetz
But you have to remember that most cars alts are designed around what electrical the car comes with, so 75-80% of the alt's power is alread used for the vehicle Quote ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ iKidwell
my explorer's stock alt was like 160a, so i could handle right around 1500 RMS without dropping into the 12's... Quote c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress
ChevyBoy95
on stock my truck could run 2 aq1200s with the gains down a bit and not drop into the 12s. but we need to know what alternator you have. but generally, stock can handle about ~1krms but might have a little light dimming.
