meade916 Posted August 3, 2011 Report Share Posted August 3, 2011 never use anything to seal, if u have good cuts and use enough wood glue there is no need to seal it this is the best answer. I cant remember the last time i used silicone or anything else like that. I do fiberglass and Resin up most of my personal boxes though. I do it for durability though, not for sealing them. Decaf Posted August 3, 2011 Report Share Posted August 3, 2011 if u want uber smooth surface line the interior with laminate... then u dont have to sand the resin to make it smooth when ive applied resin it never lays glass smooth and tends to be less smooth then the wood was to start the cut edge of MDF is very porous, hence why u need to use alot of glue, but the pressed surface will never leak air. some of the loudest cars in the world spend hours making the inside as smooth as possible Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
