Cashdollar2009
Thanks for the info i guess ill be heading down the sundown route then....... whats the realistic current draw for one of the sundowns? also, how does the DC 5k stand up to the saz3500? You would want to compare the DC 5k to the Saz-4500d in that case. Mike singer actually clamped a hair more power out of the DC 5k when he was testing the two. The 5k's a whole other beast. Cashdollar2009
It also looks like the Cresendo BC 3500 also, i wonder how much DC is charging for this old AQ design? He was stating that the DC 3.5k was just more COMPARABLE to the old AQ3500. Both use a 3,500 watt board. The new AQ3500.1d uses a 4,300 watt board, hence the power ratings. audiofanaticz
Say "NO" to spring clips!!! Couldnt agree more!! Or any amp for that matter using vertical mosfets. Never again will I buy something with vertical mosfets, or for that matter any amp that does not use proper pcb bracing FTL!

The 5k's a whole other beast. it depends on the cost of the amps, as im from the uk it costs a fair bit more for this gear, so its power vs cost tbh. if the dc 5k is close in price to the sundown, ill go for 2 of them, if not, itll be sundowns. Say "NO" to spring clips!!! Couldnt agree more!! Or any amp for that matter using vertical mosfets. sundownz
We no longer produce the 4500D; DC and Crescendo both make amps like it now. AQ no longer makes their original 3500D; DC and Crescendo both make amps like it now. I haven't really looked closely at the DC, AQ, and CA 2000-watt level amps. As for our current lines; SAX-1200D, SAZ-1500Dv.2, SAZ-2500D, SAZ-3500D, and upcoming NS-1 they are unique to Sundown. BeAlLsTaR13
And are cresendo amps same as sundown amp? That's what everyone is saying. Not true, completely different, sundown is it's own. DC, AQ, and crescendo are all alike. You'll find that most, if not all of those amplifiers seem to clamp their rating (crescendo 2k struggled to clamp 2k after a rise to 1, only about 2058 IIRC) where as it is expected that a sundown amp will clamp about 500w more than what it's rated..and that's at about 12v IMO sundown is unique in it's own way, and nothing can compare to it..well unless someone feels like going the Direct Copy route..ahem Quote Team Sundown Audio**CURRENT** -- 2012 Scion tC Build Click Here **OLD** -- 2002 Pontiac Grand AM Build Click Herecheck them out, slap me a comment2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2.2l 4 cylinder ecotec.-------------------------------------------------------------------Head Unit - Alpine CDA-9887Subs - 2x Z 12 v.2s - v.3 + NS Soft partsAmplifier - Sundown Audio SAZ-3500DEnclosure - 3.33 Cubes tuned to 34.66hzFront Stage - JBL P660c 6.5" ComponentsRear Deck - Powerbass 4xl 6.5" Mid-RangeFront Stage Amplifier - Sundown Audio SAX-100.4DWires - Kicker Hyperflex 1/0, KnuKonceptz 1/0, Knu 4 and 8 Gauge, Kicker RCAsElectrical - 275 AMP DC Power H/O Alternator, XS Power S3400, XS Power D2700Videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeAILsTaR13-------------------------------------------------------------------

The revised AQ-3500D.1 performs more like our 3500D than the old one; it is not to be compared to a 4500D (which is significantly more powerful than either of the aforementioned). The rest of the 4500D amp is significantly different; output transistor count is not the ONLY aspect of an amp to look at but is a quick one to note when comparing the DC-3.5k board to the SAZ-3500D board. sundownz
As far as pricing; AQ is a direct sales company and Sundown is a dealer based company. If you want to ask serious questions that is fine - if this is a "this is like that but cheaper thread" I will close it. JPagan
Would you ever make sundown a direct sales company? seems like a lot more people buy their sundown equipment online than at a shop.
