kam311
Lol cone area is nice but I'd take 1 nice 12" sub over 2 shitty 12" subs any day! When it comes to quality or cone area id take quality first and then work my way up to cone area Quote so far... kam311
I don't really want bash Sony, but what I do want to say is that it's not the best sub, not even close lol. But neither are a lot of subs! Especially for the money you pay. I have a jl w3 that costs around 200 buck and when I set it next my sundown sa-10 (costs actually less) it's not even funny the difference between the two. The sa's motor alone is bigger than the w3 haha. But yes the Sony's will work, but if your like most of us you will want to upgrade soon Quote so far... fritosaregood
hell if your one a budget sony is ok, here are some vids for the haters. single xplod 12 on 800rms before rise in an box made and thrown in the car the night before the comp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyUT6VtDNQg&feature=feedu then trying to kill it for a good 10+ mins poured water on it, put a few hand fulls of rocks on the cone and was still going. lasted maybe 2 or 3 seconds on a wall socket, and the coil still wasnt blackened at all except for the part of the coil that opened up Quote seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970

canderton01
For $30-$50 per woofer, I honestly think xplodes are pretty damn good You aren't going to find much better gear until you start looking at the lower lines of Pioneer and Kicker. Another vid for the haters that I just happened to see in another recent thread But agreed, for $200 I'd just do a single sub setup unless you wanna run something like 2 10's. I'd rather have 1 good sub over 2 shitty subs. I'd do what others have recommended and get something like a Sundown SA-15 or a Fi SSD. Another good choice would be the AudioQue SCD2.5 series. They are running a sale now and you can get a 15'' for $150. Hell of a deal if you ask me. Autruche
I'm a fan of cone area. Lol I like em in pairs I'm a fan of proper boxes. lol I like em built right. Seriously, a sub will only perform as good as the box you put it in, if you do one good 15 in a proper ported box it will easily be better than 2 crappy 15s in a crappy box.
