Advice on processors

Recommended Posts

I don't quite understand the potential of what these things can do, I am interested in either a soundstream processor or bass reconstruction device.

All I have is stock speakers and an Alpine head unit and run a subwoofer when I have one in.

What can I benefit from one of these units?

Thanks!

they give you some flexibility with tuning the sound system to your liking you could probobly milk some notes out of the songs that you couldnt hear before too

I don't really know to much about the different kinds, but a digital prosesssor can be used to set your x-over points in the signal line with the possibility of changind them around without physically changing your system. Aka. active x-overs. Alltough for this you need a dedicated amp channel for each frequency range, in addition to the separate left and right channels. They have EQs so you can do the last corrections and fine tune the sound to your likings. And they should also have timing andjustments. And baybe something more that i cant think of, or just don't know of.

So their potentials are to give you that certain controll and tuning possibility.
