More DD-1 ???

Before tuning with the DD-1, my H/U was at 32/35 and gain just under half, set with an oscope. My clip light would flicker a bit full tilt.

After DD-1, my H/U is at 34/35 and gain barely over half. But now, my clip light is almost constant solid at full tilt. Sounds louder and deeper, but gets me nervous.

Explain?

gain is not a volume knob its to set the voltage to your H/U you turned up the H/U more Voltage and Turned up your gain you are clipping if i understand right the DD-1 is not for clipping it is for distortion

it detects both, it will detect distortion before clipping..

clip light on bass knobs are notoriously inaccurate... i really wish people wouldnt think thats a true clip light, the only way to make sure its not clipping is by the DD1 or a big oscope

if the DD 1 says its not clipping/distorting, than its not..

Could it be that the clip light is itself is off a bit?

Previous testing did show the DC light to be a little innacurate, so I agree with Derrick on that.

Alpine, I'm aware the gain is not a volume knob, but setting up the system using the dd-1, step by step, by the book, allowed me to increase h/u unit volume and gain with no distortion light.

I'll just black out the clip indicator lol.
