If you can find some 05 or 06 (i cant remember which one exactly) L5s, the ones with the gray cones, I would get a pair of them. Those were my first set of subs after i go away from my walmart sony. I got them as refurbs for 75 each, ran tones of dirty power to them for over a year, let them sit for a while, threw them in my girls car, sold them to a guy that ran dirty power to the, but it was also only about 500 to the pair, then they were sold again. and they are still playing strong.

I remember running 1100 watts of power when i thought the gain was a volume to one of the subs, bottomed it out pretty good a few times and it took it nicely, made it smell a few times, and before i sold the the part of the coils i could see were still new lookings. that has been the only kicker sub ive really liked.

Thats definitely true. I love kicker and Ive always had kicker for subs but its true what your saying. Theres lots of subs out there that perform better and you get what you pay for.

Yeah kickers are actually good. I have 4 15" CVR in my scion and it moves great, not mentioning that there in a sealed box. So If you want then go for it. If you dont like em, then sell em. Kickers are good enough for what you pay for.

Um, I would go the Fi route, and do a 2 10" BL setup (no a 12" fan) with a good clean amp.. damn thing would pound to no end.... Just sayin

I don't own a shop but from a good friend of mine who owns a shop. If u want cheap that's fine. Then he says its my job to make sure the cheap shit sounds as good as it can. And and he sells a ton of kicker. Its all in the install

this brings me to another question. on kickers website it shows the L7 15 using a port thats 3.5 x 16.25 for the larger ported box of 6 cubic feet. thats a surface area of 56.875 square inches. so am i corect in saying i can use two 6 inch aero ports? they have a port surface area of 28.26 each or 56.52 for the pair combined. the two aeros are .35 square inches less area than the recommended slot port so i figured it would be fine. just seems like two 6's is ALOT of port for a single sub. what do you guys think?

just to see what kicker thinks i called there tech support and talked with them, they told me that 2 6" aeros would be perfect. they said they have tried 2 6" and 4 4" aeros and that the 4 4" was .75 db louder than the slot port and the 2 6" was 1.5 db louder. so 2 L7 15's in 13.25 cubic feet with 2 6" aeros per sub. ill let you guys know what happens as soon as i get it together
