captainhook426
put your wrench on the pulley bolt and it will untension as you try to twist the bolt. I believe you need to loosed the bolt to make that work, if that doesn't work then reverse you direction. edit ---- orion fucking Edited September 3, 2011 by captainhook426 Quote Next time she tries to punch you in the stomach, whip your wiener out and chase her around. ChevyBoy95
Not really sure on the second part, I tried turning it and daaaaamn, it ain't budging, maybe I either need more leverage, or it does hold it in place. ChevyBoy95
Well I could get the tensioner to move some, just not near enough, so I thought, maybe I can take some of the tension off with this think that says load on it. AA98hoe
Put the socket on the pulley part of the tensioner it will give you enough leverage to move the tensioner Quote TEAM DC AUDIO VEHICLE:98 chevy tahoe 2wd 3-4 drop HEADUNIT:alpine 9886 PREAMP:arcaudio FRONT STAGE:4-6 1/2s selinium,DD component set and 4-selinium tweeters in each door KICKPANELS:jl audio 5 1/4 REAR DOORS: dd components 6 1/2s HIGHS AMPS:zapco 750.2 on front doors, zapco an another 750.2 on kicks and rear doors SUBS:4-ascendant audio 18s with 5 spiders in a custom box built by KINGSUV SUB AMP: 2-dc7.5s ALTERNATORS: 3-mechmans 1- 425comp, 1-smd spec350, 1-270 with adj voltage harness on custom dc bracket WIRE:10-runs 0g front to back BATTERIES:6-d1400s TL results:157.1 at 38hz and 156.8 at headrest score @37hz. ChevyBoy95
And I don't have anything with me long enough(over 10") to get a lot of tension on it, I usually see my dad when he does his or anything that needs a lot of tension putting a pipe over the side of the wrench to extend it. photochrisb931
Since you do not have a tensioner tool u might try this. Get a piece of metal pipe that will fit over the handle of your ratchet. Place socket on the bolt on the pully and turn away from the belt. The tensioner is probably just stiff and hard to turn. It could be seized like n8 said if so it will break the inside apart and never regain tension. If that happens go to parts store buy new one. Then you will need to loosen the top bolt to take it off and replace it. The top bolt should not need to be loosened to just release pressure on the belt. ChevyBoy95
I think it just hasn't been moved in years, I'll go try some more and if it breaks... O well.
