mbdblue
thats cool of you all want to contribute, a lot of people have. just dont do it because you think someone is losing money on this forum. X2 Bandwidth isn't free, but neither are ads. And personally I think SMD might just be a little profitable. (sarcasm) (not but really I'm sureeveryone knows SMD is a very profitable site) I mean CACO doesn't seem like it had as much traffic as this site and wasn't it sold for something in the 6digit range? profitable or not, I agree with the OP. I think there should be more contributing members. Its a good way to give back to a site that has offered good information (sometimes info you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else) and hooks you up with direct connections to many companies. I didn't say we shouldn't contribute. I just think we should contribute because we want to not because we feel like Steve might go broke if we don't. That why I quoted skittles. RooTxBeeR
I've alwasys wanted to do a membership but do not have extra money to do it. Once I get a job though, you can bet I will throw something in the direction of the SMD man! And yes I love this place, since I came here I have learned soooo much about car audio, because of it I have friends asking me all the time, hey how does this work, can you build me a box, set up my system. It's awesome!!! On 11/20/2012 at 8:54 PM, AMI CUSTOMS said: Turned mine up today at a light, guy next to me his steering wheel started moving and he looked over at me like I was a magician lol. tonedeaf
Put it this way...whatever you put into the site will probably get put BACK into the site to improve upon what it already is. If you dont, the site isnt going to close down never to return.
meade916
i appreciate that you guys want to donate, but please, dont worry about it! Donate to me by checking out all the SMD partner banners and see what they have going on from time to time. there is a way to become a "supporting" member which allows you to get rid of the google ads........and a few other perks. But as far as flat out donating, there is no need. The site runs itself. It costs a LOT of money to run, but it pays for itself. i appreciate the offer and the kind words though. Thanks!
