Viruses...already...

I just bought a brand new netbook from my friend (literally, it was only opened to ensure everything was in there, had to set it up & everything), and only used it to copy my music from my main laptop (getting ready to have them sync up every night) and for general surfing (Facebook, SMD, news, etc), and I already have a trojan...tried using Malwarebytes, it picks up the files it's running, but the main program itself (winsett.exe) keeps returning. All it does is slow down the computer & play random ad's or music at times, but other than that, it's alright, just a pain in the ass. Malwarebytes won't pick it up, neither will CyberDefender, or anything else...I've NEVER seen what this program is, so it has to be new...Anyone got any suggestions? I'm at an end. I've tried Norton, McAfee, every typical virus software...

run in safe mode then run malwarebytes?

You can also recover your computer. Open up recovery and you can set it to a date before you got the virus. I alwayssss have problems when I get automatic updates which sometimes makes my wireless card all fugged up, so I just recover it back to the day before I got the update and it works errrr time. But Im a super computer nerd so if I ever get a virus, I fix it myself.

If you just got the thing it should be simple to just reformat it.... virus gone, end of story.

Then make sure it isn't on your main computer.

Ok you are going to love me. Google eset online scanner use Internet explorer that's important. Run it in safe mode with networking

For the music and ads are they all through ie or whatever your default browser is? If so my co-workers got me a brilliant program called combofix and it cleans up all the crap in your web browser. I recently had a browser hijack on my computer where whenever i google anything up it would show the results but when i click on any of the sites it would redirect me to a b.s. dns site. I tried to flush my dns, check the registry, check the system files for directed websites and found nothing. I at first thought it was a local profile issue because i made a test account and it didnt have any problem until i rebooted. Then as i was getting ready to do my annual pc format and reimage my co-worker brought up the idea to use combofix as a last resort to fixing the problem. I installed the program, ran it, and it got rid of all the crap i had problems with on all my web browsers. This is where you can go to download it: http://www.combofix.org/ it is a great program for those pesky new spyware programs and it wouldnt hurt to give a shot with your computer. It fixed my problem with the browser hijack that was able to get past my antivirus i have which is Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security. You do NOT want to run this program more than once as its more like a fail safe and make sure your stuff is backed up prior to running the software because if the virus is bad enough and the program removes it, it can render your computer useless.
