Sony double dins. Good or bad?

So do any of you guys bashing the Sony deck really have any experience with it? It's not a bad unit especially for the the price. Their new stuff is much better then it was. They have pretty much dropped the color label as it's developed a poor rep and have developed some very nice new products. The pioneer 2300 is nice, but only two 2v preouts sucks. You get what you pay for with these. If you're looking for nav I'd definitely go with kenwood or pioneer over Sony. But for a basic screen the Sony is nice. Don't bash if you don't know guys.

baaudio, Sony aims at first time buyer, can't compare Pioneer SQ with Sony, I wouldn't mind the 2V (keep in mind the price). I can't say that I love JVC but they have a ton of features are inexpensive and reliable, what would make a good argument to buy Sony with so many alternatives.

I am going to chime in on this one because I recently came close to purchasing the Sony Unit but, went another route based on other factors. I pinned the story.

I was willing to give Sony another shot based on speaking with the rep at C.E.S. in 2010. Openly admitted their Xplode line was "Junk". Obviously I agreed and because of his honesty listen to what he had to say. They wanted to make an attempt in going back to the day when Sony had their "ES" line. Now I have never been a big "Sony" fan but, the "ES" line was some nice equipment back in the day. The two double-din units are well priced around $500 with bluetooth and Navi built in (I think). I know when I was shoppng for double-din those were criterias I was looking for.

Now I am die hard "Alpine" faithful and I run Alpine in all my rides but, in today's economy I just could not afford to do it at the time when I was looking into buying a double-din. I ended up with a JVC but, was close to buying the SONY and would of bought an Alpine if I could have.

Not sure if this was much help but, do some research for sure and please post in the double-din review. Hit up Ray from AI and see if he still has that Alpine double-din for sale.

or care about sound quality. Pioneer is never on my list unless its the high high end units. Ive ran everything in one time or another.

JVC alpine, kenwood clarion, panasonic you name it. and I fi havent ive installed it. I keep coming back to kenwoods and alpines.

Then you missed out on some of the nicest headunits ever. the new stuff is ok, the xplode stuff was trash. the mobile ES stuff about a decade and a half ago was pretty incredible.

So you guys are saying all the Sony head units suck? Why do you guys think that, they seem like they have good features. I was think of getting the Sony cdx-gt740ui from audiosavings for 150.

It has 3 sets of 4 volt rcas and a 120 signal-to-noise ratio.

Seems like a good deal to me but maybe not why do u bash on Sony so much?
