Update:10/13/12

have alittle more than 27ish cubes

so we extended the top of the wall to even everything.

and baffle for subs is don but we are gonna brace it with CJ's method he used on his old walls.

3/4 inch and 1 inch nuts welded to a steel plate. all thread in between.

we have alot of 1/4 steel in this shell and on the baffle!

baffle = 3 layers of 3/4 birch

we might be moving the baffle back a couple of inches because of so much space on the sealed.

not hating... but you say " 1/4' steel " alot. ( i guess making it sound like theres alot of steel and wleding ) all your using is angle iron to hold the baffles and pieces togeather.. not 1/4" plate over the baffles

?

the baffle is 90 degrees so we used angle iron for bracing as well as all-thread. its a whole lot faster then welding 1/4" steel strips.

im sorry if people thought i meant quarter inch steel plates/ sheets on the baffle to make it thicker.

but i did say 1/4" steel plates but i meant strips that we put in the corners of the shell, we put the strips in all the corners and tacked them together so they kept the angle of the corner, pulled the strips out , welded them completely, and slammed them back into the corner with lots of Liquid Nail.

the welder also popped the breaker every 4 seconds at Cj's house, thats why it took so long, and felt like alot more welding.

i couldnt take the car to my shop and use the 220 amp MIG. which woulda made welding a cinch.

to me the way i read it was "zomg steel everywhere!!11"

then i see a few piece of angle iron to hold baffels in place lol

and yes a bigger welder is helpfull.. not even sure why they even made a 110v welder.. only thing its good for is thin body work and some exhaust pipe
