BFF Larry Posted March 23, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 23, 2013 Update: 3/22/13 we were going to go to the IASCA 1x show in Indy, and 30 mins from the show, rubber smell... slow down from 80 mph and get off the highway, and now the car is hopping around, get into the Love's gas station and the right rear tire is swollen and steel hanging off. same side as last time it happened during summer last year coming home from a MECA show in Columbus. and while pulling into the gas station, i lose my break pedal, blew brake lines in the rear. so game plan now is to: replace power steering hose replace serp belt redo front to rear brake lines and get higher rated tires. hopefully going from 16 inch to 15 inch truck tires. BFF Larry Posted March 29, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 29, 2013 Update: 3/29/13 got a little work done on the car yesterday. 1) replaced front to rear brake lines with NiCopp Nickel Copper alloy lines, used about 2 rolls we've been using this type of lines now on every car since last year! its so fast and easy compared the original lines and really easy to flare, bubble or double, doesnt matter! ill take some pics of the lines tonight. 2) replaced the power steering hose. 3) replaced the serp belt with a Gates micro v btw, you have to remove the front engine mount /spacer/stud to remove belt haha heres a pic of the old belt. loose, slipping, grooves not deep 4) replaced both rear wheel cylinders because i broke off the bleeder on the right rear, so i just replaced both, and adjusted the brakes while i was back there. i am replacing the coil springs soon. with either stocks or might go for some custom ones. the springs in the rear are original and have 266k on them haha 5) and replaced the right rear tire, i still have a couple good used tires left sitting here at the shop more updates and pics soon! show this weekend in Columbus! and Team Clearly Louder (MECA)Team DC Audio ++* SELLING the CACTUS SOUNDS K12 for $1550 shipped *++ HMU!!! 3 flips. nollie flips. big flips. hardflips. - steez Youtube Channel My Build Log 95 Bonneville SSE - WALLED/4th Order - ~30 cubes - *thanks LoganBerry, CortezDVT, Cj18, SuperCharged DC, Ryan-RAM Designs,LoudNLow931* Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
