Will It Fit ? 99 Integra + 3 Btl 18's

Recommended Posts

no fit..

I dont see it anyway.

1st Impression:

Without a wall, or above window line I dont see it goin down.

I have the same gen integ and unless u go above window line I really have a hard time seeing 3-18's with proper air AND fitting them giant RF amps and some Batts to run em.

Mind you-I think it IS doable, just gotta use EVERY tiny bit of air in there.

Spare tire well galssed, entire trunk glassed, rear seat area used and walled I can see it. Otherwise I don't think there's enough surface area to fit 3-18's-Horizontally or otherwise.

I'mma go play around in my ride and I'll get back to ya if I can fig it out but not till some serious numbers are crunched.

after seeing those pics of his 15s, its totally doable

I say fiberglassed 3- 18s 1 facing each person up front, and one apposing in the back (against do to cancelations) but for wow factor, and lows it would be cool, for SPL, high numbers do 2- 18s, 1 behind each seat, (or facing up if need below window line) port way in the back, that way would be easiest, and probably be most benificial, DB wise that is- Totally doable, easy 2- 18s, 3- 18s, a little sticky, will work, but subs would be at all different angles- Airspace, not worried about AT ALL....

Poly fill can fix that, wont gain in SPL, but will help the low end, and lack of airspace, and actually cause the speakers to play a flatter freq response for a SQ set up. And Iam still seing below window line

I say if you want to get LOUD and LOW, just do 2- 18s, wild and fun, 3- 18s

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

I agree w/ forevrbumpin to some degree-

I think 2 is doable and would be sick loud....but consider this:

A sub will play in ANY configuration- big box, tiny box, even free air. Mount it, Apply power and it will make some sound. What were talkin bout here is how well/efficient it will play in a given setup.

You could TOTALLY just glass the rear seating area, trunk and all and keep the setup below window line, and either squeeze 3 18's in there staggared kinda pointing forward or go 2 forward and one up.

Just run em in whatever space ends up (net) in the giant enclosure. They will prolly end up a bit UNDERSPACED due to the tight area, but that would just mean they would sound punchier and as Forevr pointed out more "SQ like" or accurate due to having the effective "tighter" suspension (more resisitence in the smaller air volume). Prolly not "ideal" or "typical" sound for an 18" beast but I bet it would still sound damn nice and IMO BETTER due to the improved transient response. If you kept it sealed it would also be more easily done but I'm SURE you would want it ported and in that case I would consider a design like Pstones in the "Flying White sausage" (jesus did i just type that?) or roscoe's setup w/ the xxx 18's or Assman's van where the port is the "negative" area around where the subs are mounted. I think that'd be ur best bet if you absolutely had to port it.

~2cents.

The wheels are spinning arent they. If I do it, I would like to face all the 18's straight up towars the roof.

if stuck doing a smaller box, it doesnt mean its not right for the subs, you just need to down size the port size to compensate for loss of air space, so if you were expecting to do some 150sq inch port, maybe should re thingk a smaller box, and port down to 100-90sq inch, and everything will be perfectly fine, hell again, like I said it already, atleast just line the walls in the box with about 1"- 2" poly fill or fiberglass to trick the subs in to thinking they are in a slightly larger box... I knew from the beggining this was a possible set up, 2 or 3-18s, hell i have built and installed some 18s for a guy that only needed about 2.5cf of airspace, did a small area port, but long, and it was sounding amazing

Hell man, do 2-18s in a Horn loaded wall fuk a box, get REAL loud ( I know your loud as hella already I felt that thing with the 12s from a few years back) but how many people do you know who have a walled off horn compact car? I dont know a 1, That just means there is room for a 1st

I think 3 18's would be sick and different from everyone else.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

i think it could be done . get creative .... rough ride to go the easy way, put some alum blocks under the rear to keep the ass from sagin, then gut that bish out from the b pillar back, have 2 18s faceing the front (one behind each seat of course) the 3rd have faceing the roof ulitise the spare tire well, i can see 20-23 cubes before port and sub dis.

and since youre going extreme finaly put 1/2 mdf on the roof, back fill with foam to make the roof rigid , cover the mdf with fabric of choice, mount your amps on the roof and with them there they will stay cool , from the air blasting by with each beat and so forth, ....go for broke
