corey0928
Does the buyer or seller make a claim when a package is damaged?

n8ball2013
imo the seller should do the claim. He was the one using the service not you. You paid for goods. you should get goods. thats all you should have to od Quote THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger. siccostyle
I am dealing with a ups claim right now. It can be done by either the seller or the buyer which ever one is easier. So if you received a damaged package and tell the seller and the seller doesn't file the claim or takes to long to do it. You as the buyer are covered. It seems to be going fairly fast for me. I called yesterday to start the claim and sent pictures of damaged goods claim was approved today (I am the buyer I got tired of waiting for the seller). Here is the number for the ups claims line 1 (800) 651-2352 they are open until 9pm eastern time. Good luck. Second Skin Rep Jon
Ugh, I just went through this a few months ago with a SAZ-1500D. The first and ONLY time I've ever had an issue with UPS. Long story short, I had to file the claim (not the seller), took them about two weeks to pick up the damaged amp for inspection, they then shipped it back to the seller who returned it to me... giant clusterf*ck. Still better than trying to file a claim with USPS or FedEx. Quote Have a question about Second Skin? E-Mail me!
corey0928
Thanks! Another question would a video be ok or are pictures the only thing. Its hard to take pics of coil rub and a seized up sub
siccostyle
Not really sure about the video. You have to contact the claims department then they will send you an e-mail asking for the pictures if you want PM me and I will copy and past the e-mail that they sent me so you can see the pics that they want. I had to kind of deal with the same thing. I had damage that I could not photograph but I just took the pics they asked for and it was approved. Its a lot easier if they approve you for pictures and not have to send someone out to inspect the item. Let me know if you want to see the e-mail they sent me. brownm3
I would think to work through the seller since they were the shippers and responsible for properly declaring product value for insurance purposes. But doesn't hurt to get things moving on your end as well. Considering its your product you would have more urgency to get the situation resolved than the seller and definitely UPS. Good luck. I am sure as long as insurance covered the damage, the only headache you will have is dealing with the delay for the replacement or reimbursement.
