Real96SS
I like it. But have you figured out why one sub is not moving as much?? Not yet but they are both coming back out tomorrow so I can check all the connections.Even though they are all reading good on the DMM.Like I said it may be that one broke in faster than the other.I did free air one before the install. Bet your glad all that work is paying off now Yeah its only when its not turned up much that the one doesnt move much.Which is why I said it must not be broken in as much as the other one.It did rain yesterday and she is pretty dirty but we got more work to do so she's going to have to be dirty for a little while longer LoL!!! As for the hard work.....Man I was so anxious to hear it and when I did it didn't disappoint me.Then knowing that it's going to get louder makes me smile ear to ear.Once I get all the wiring in the back all situated then it will be time to get the mids and highs up and running. dwright27
I don't see that box holding up to 8k watts.... It's just not built strong enough. I've seen a basic box Luke that get ripped apart by two Fi Q's and no wear near the power you will have. Also didn't know you cheaped out on the wire. Don't take this as talking shit but why buy DC Power alts then cheap out on the wire which is what is going to get the power of those alts to your amps... Don't really understand why you say cheaped out on the wire. I'm under the impression that KnuKonceptz makes good wire and that going from CCA to OFC is not really worth it but at the time I purchased the wire I picked what I thought was best for what I was doing. So unless someone proves me wrong that there's a major difference in the wire then I think I made a good choice. As for the box that's why I post pictures of everything so people can comment and give some advise.Nobody said anything so I just went with what I had at my disposal.Hey I guess if it gets ripped to shits then I get to start over with more knowledge. The resistance in the CCA wire is greater then the resistance in the OFC wire. There is a reason why the CCA wire is rated at 250 amps as opposed to 300 amps like the OFC is. Greater resistance means your going to need more of the CCA wire to match what the OFC would be able to handle. Meaning your voltage loss with a 20' run of CCA will be greater then your voltage loss to a 20' run of OFC. It's not enough to matter between the 2. Stop nit picking. Nothing to look at so nice try. The difference in voltage drop between CCA isn't enough to matter, besides for the price of the OFC you can buy 2x as much CCA. 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. You know me and you have constantly talked about this build and I always listen to what you have to say and then I make a decision. Also didn't get anything from you on those videos LoL!!! I got to do some stuff to it tomorrow in the rear so it will be unhooked again while I check out the one sub and make sure all the wiring is good. Real96SS
On another note I did run into a problem with trying to use the outputs on the 3500 to run to the second one and they don't work.Says its only for linking the two.So now I'm trying to figure out the best way to get rca's to both without losing any power from the rca's. Right now for testing purposes I just used one on each amp.Not sure if it matters hopefully not.Any inputs on this RCA issue? Just use a passive RCA splitter, the voltage on the RCAs will stay the same. I think you would only run into problems splitting to like 10-20 amps, I'm splitting one RCA output to four amps with no problems. About the subs... if you can get your hands on an A/C current clamp check out how much is going to each sub, if it's equal and one sub is moving much less than the other, the sub is busted, otherwise, you have a wiring issue. Okay and does it matter if I split it at the deck or in the rear? I am going to T/S the subs today but I was thinking that it because one was broken in and the other wasn't.The one that's moving the most was free aired before it was installed.I should have more info of what I have tried later and also a better clue.As for the clamp I am going to order one but it wont get here probably until I figure it out on my own but I need one anyways. Real96SS
I just came from checking all the wiring and everything wire wise is good.I also played a couple songs and the subs are both moving the same now.I don't know if it was just the angle or what but right now their playing the same.I even swapped rca's and amps on them and they still played the same.Other than that all I got to do was mount the fuse holders in the back and run 2 of the power wires to one of the amps.Should be able to run the other two in the morning.
