I have not noticed a difference in anything so far after switching to regular fluids. The only thing I put approved fluid in was the steering rack, that's only because it came with the OEM replacement rack. That's a bitch to install by the way. Second Skin Rep Jon Posted May 24, 2012 Report Share Posted May 24, 2012 I've always ran OE transmission fluid not because of the "OEM is best" argument, but because of the success of using it over any other brand/mix. Two vehicles with 400K+ miles on them with zero transmission issues is the main reason. I don't see saving $3-$4 on some Maxtron/Dexron III worth it to be honest with you.
