ChevyBoy95 Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 the 3kwps (amazing amps) were warrantied to .5, they did 4k (13.8v) for about 500 or 550. The new BASSCLEF series is only warrantied down to 1 ohm. So either recone the bitch, or save up for a 3500 and still only get about 1800 rms. like HT said, bad planning. G-Rad Posted December 2, 2011 Author Report Posted December 2, 2011 May do the D2 recone idea. I was originally planning on the sub being a D2, which is what I went with. Found out lastnight that it was a D1, which changed up everything. That's why I'm in the spot i'm in. But yeah, it does fall into the catergory of bad planning; moreso premature planning. JPagan Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 I ran a [email protected] daily on stock 105 amp alt and a deka battery up front and big 3 done. Voltage sucked so I never turned it up much to make it drop below 13v. I would suggest a huge batt up front and huge batt in back, along with a 200+ amp alternator. Since you arent driving the car daily I would forget about an alt and just buy an xs power charger and keep it hooked up to that.
G-Rad Posted December 2, 2011 Author Report Posted December 2, 2011 haha, right! I know I probably shouldn't now, reading up on it. Guest grim83 Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 if you havent bought the amp yet you might want to try saving up and finding a amp that does its power at 2ohm such as alpines mrp-2000
