412 CVX
there is no right port area for a 12 inch sub. usually the rule of thumb is 12-16 square inches of port per (net) cubic foot of the enclosure Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid. SnowDrifter
12-16 sqin of port per cubic foot of box space. I like to stay within the 15-16 range for less port noise and a bit more output. How much power does your friend plan on running? carlosg_313
right now he is running around 2-2.5k(forgot what amp he had) total. with the box he had, it still sounded nice but he wants to get louder. the thing with his box he made was that he has a small port tuned to 32 using the RE Calculator(maybe his calculation were wrong by using the RE calculator). here is what i got, lmk what ya'll think. 412 CVX
It's the little eraser tool lol, use it. i would shoot for a little bit smaller of a port. about 14-16 inches per cube. and try and keep about a 1:6 ratio of port height to width if you've been following Purplehaze's build log, try a port similar to his.
