SnowDrifter
Excuse the poor quality video. I did it more so you can hear what it sounds like than to hear what is going on. It makes this sound, moves less for a fraction of a second, then goes back to playing. It does it only at certain notes (and it's not bottoming out) Ideas? It's a level 5 15 w/ reinforced surround, 2 extra medium spiders http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s67rAXXYgs Edited December 10, 2011 by SnowDrifter Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

CJ18
Kind of sounds like the coil either hitting the back plate or pole somehow. Rusty or Rob can answer this better than me though.

matt402
check ur triple joint & dustcap to see if its loose.
Chode69
sounds like you possibly got coil rock...make sure your triple joint (where the former, spiders and cone meet) is all intact, make sure your spiders didnt come off the landing... honestly i think its the spiders came of the landing causing them to slap the landing when playing and they need to be re-glued down. pull the sub out of the box and push the cone up from the bottom and see if anything looks out of place...sounds like an easy fix to me.
