SQMonte
I'm in the planning stage of my new box build and was planning on going with a single 6" aero port but I noticed if I went with dual 4" aero's I could save a few bucks....$26 for dual 4" or $40 for the 6" Is there any reason I should not go for the dual 4" ports? Just a FYI, box is for a pair of SA-12's powered by an SAZ-1500 in the trunk of my Monte Carlo. What ya think? C-Fizzy
Honestly, dual 6's. I have a single 6 for my 2 12" mayhems and I'm going to drop in my other 6. BeAlLsTaR13
4 4s or 2 6s gets my vote. 4 4s or 2 6s would be too much for a pair of sa12s should go with a single 6 this is my aero box: prolly one of the more effecient boxes i built for my sa12s at about 4.5 cubes after displacments Edited December 20, 2011 by BeAlLsTaR13 Quote Team Sundown Audio**CURRENT** -- 2012 Scion tC Build Click Here **OLD** -- 2002 Pontiac Grand AM Build Click Herecheck them out, slap me a comment2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2.2l 4 cylinder ecotec.-------------------------------------------------------------------Head Unit - Alpine CDA-9887Subs - 2x Z 12 v.2s - v.3 + NS Soft partsAmplifier - Sundown Audio SAZ-3500DEnclosure - 3.33 Cubes tuned to 34.66hzFront Stage - JBL P660c 6.5" ComponentsRear Deck - Powerbass 4xl 6.5" Mid-RangeFront Stage Amplifier - Sundown Audio SAX-100.4DWires - Kicker Hyperflex 1/0, KnuKonceptz 1/0, Knu 4 and 8 Gauge, Kicker RCAsElectrical - 275 AMP DC Power H/O Alternator, XS Power S3400, XS Power D2700Videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeAILsTaR13-------------------------------------------------------------------
kirill007
Honestly, dual 6's. I have a single 6 for my 2 12" mayhems and I'm going to drop in my other 6. Mayhem=/= SA 12 The SA 12 will be good with 1 6 inch port, or 2 4's. Maybe even 3 4's if you can but since you want to go the cheaper route, 2 4's will be enough. 1 single 6 inch is more efficient then 2 4's, but it's only in tenths of dB. SQMonte
Im not willing to save a few bucks if its gonna cost performance. Im just wondering if either would be more efficient than the other? Is it possible to have too much port? Also, I dont have any rear deck speakers, allowing more bass into the cabin with the seats up. If I built a box w/ the port firing out to the side and installed a beauty board the 6x9 openings would be blocked off, would adding a couple vents in the board be good enough to allow that pressure into the cabin or would there be a drop off due to the board? C-Fizzy
Why not install the ports through the rear deck? SQMonte
I'd be all for it if it would sound good, I'm worried about the soundwaves being horribly out of phase. Am I trippin'?
