kraz1021 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Share Posted December 29, 2011 it could be a couple of things IMO.the ignition lock cylinder could be going bad,or it could the shifters park switch that engages and releases the key.id try putting a little dry graphite in the ingition lock cylinder and see if that helps.i have a question,does the cylinder move otherwise when you turn the key or is it just stuck in the off position I can turn the car on and off just fine it just gets stuck on the accessory and wont budge to off when the battery is hooked up. since the lock cylinder moves id almost bet its in the gear shifter.the bushings in the gear shift wear out and the slop prevents the pawl on the selector from engaging the key release contacts Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
