carshateme
I never noticed Birch at the local Home Depot or Lowes. Any idea if they make it 1" thick, or just 3/4"? I'm planning a wall sometime in 2012 and need at least 25-30 sheets of 1" mdf, Birch would be better if if lighter. What in the bloody hell could possibly take 25-30 sheets of 4x8 wood!?!?!?! I could build a wall in a full size uhaul with less wood. Probably for a semi trailer. haha New build coming soon. SPL Blazer
Thats alot of wood.Don't think he realized what he was saying. I thought it was a lot of wood too, but the Team 420 guy's I'm having build my wall have built some of the loudest ones in the world, so they know what they're doing. The wall is for my Astro for 4 DC XL 18's. I was told it'll need 25 sheets of mdf just to start. The baffle is 6" thick, not sure about the other sides though. They did a wall in an Astro like mine several years ago and I saw that one pulling low 60's with two 12v interstate batts and a Stetsom 8k. No idea what power it was really doing, but I'm pretty sure with only two batts it wasn't 8k. I'm going with a music wall so I don't see me hitting those numbers, but they said it still needs to be pretty thick where I'm using four 18's. If they make 1" birch and it's lighter maybe this would be a good idea to use. 2001 Blazer ~ (2) 10" DC lvl 4's, Orion 2500d 148.9db 2005 Astro ~ (2) 18" DC XL's, Atomic 5000.1 153.9 db New England SPL NESPL - YouTube

SPL Blazer
If you are using birch make sure your box is properly secured to the vehicle my 2-18"s made my box move really bad. Had the same problem with my mdf box with the dual 18's, box moved back 3" when I burped it. Definitely gotta strap the box down or something to keep from moving. 2001 Blazer ~ (2) 10" DC lvl 4's, Orion 2500d 148.9db 2005 Astro ~ (2) 18" DC XL's, Atomic 5000.1 153.9 db New England SPL NESPL - YouTube

My understanding is that I'll need 6 1" sheets for the baffle, 6 for the back wall, 3 for the top, 3 for the bottom and 4 for each side. 2001 Blazer ~ (2) 10" DC lvl 4's, Orion 2500d 148.9db 2005 Astro ~ (2) 18" DC XL's, Atomic 5000.1 153.9 db New England SPL NESPL - YouTube
