mbdblue Posted December 31, 2011 Report Share Posted December 31, 2011 ive been told with fiberglass 1"-1.5" thick is recomended. strength isnt about thickness although with a properly done 1.5 inch thick fiberglass box you could probably park on it. true man Id make sure you have a really good bond between the MDF rings and glass. if that seam is weak and you put the weight of the sub on it, I wouldn't be surprised if it cracked out. ChrisLun Posted December 31, 2011 Report Share Posted December 31, 2011 Look into using the normal fiberglass methods, but after the resin has dried, try using 1/4 or 1/2 inch chop strand mixing at a 2:1 ratio and apply the chop strand to the inside of the box...
