o2's shooting out liquid(ferro?) what do i do, pics inside

HPF is set around 225 hz the low end of the freq response is 220 should i turn it up to around 300hz and i agree that it is not ferro anymore, im going to have to really look around my doors and see whats going on in there

I don't know those speakers, but it looks like they are midranges and not midbass speakers since the surround is barely there.

THey probably can't handle that much power at such low frequencies.

Put your LPF to 500 and set it to 24db instead of 12db. Maybe then they will handle the power.

But where do you get your midbass from?

Is it me or do thos have no roll on the surround. That would explain why the cone is damaged as well.

Ferro fluid is only for tweeters. Plus i know for a fact your midrange does not have ferro fluid into it due to the phase plug. The little area outside of your phase plug (the silver bullet shaped object toward the middle of the speaker) has a gap and that gap is where your coil is. There is not anything between the gap to protect it from having water get into the speaker so you probably have some water getting into the door and hitting right onto where the woofer is. I was lucky with my door speakers stock location on my envoy that they had a plastic cover on the rear of the door speakers mounting bracket to help protect it from water.

Also it looks like you are over powering that speaker with the crumple marks around the entire cone. How did you set the gains? And for your crossover it should not be up into the 250's, it should be set to highpass around 80Hz and preferably a crossover point of 24db on the amp to help protect from low freqs hitting the midrange and blowing it out.

If the cone is still movable and doesnt crush in at all when you play music try to clean up the phase plug and car and wash that side of the door down with some water. Like shoot some water directly at the window. Then open your door on the car and look at the bottom of the door. There are small holes that allow the water that enters your door to escape and be drained out if these holes are plugged with dirt you need to clean them out.

mid bass i have a set of rockford t2's and i will make those changes to the crossover and hope they last a lil longer, will these speakers eventually blow with those creases?

There is no way these will work in a car environment.. You are trying to use them as a mid range ( I know they are listed as a mid range) in a car where the typical speaker can handle 70hz and up. Not these, they are for home systems combining a woofer, mid bass, mid range and tweeter.. Get a different mid.

No, you need a 12 or 24 db high pass set at 220 and above for these but they are designed to be used in a home speaker cabinet, not the pannel/door of a car.

I was getting water on my rockford componets when I would wash my car. The window rail is very close to the speakers, had to put some thick plastic over the top of the speaker hanging down on the in side of the door panel to keep the water from getting on the speaker.
