IMO you have not done a thorough bigIII without a dedicated alt ground. I've said it twice!

^^^^yes your peak output should be closer to 2000-2400 engine rpm.

Ah, I....screwed myself. lol. Guess it's off to buy a new alternator.

New build coming soon.

really depends on the pulley, he can get a smaller one and can peak at a lower rpm

Actually I was quite a fool when I bought my alternator. The pulley was a little smaller than my stock pulley...but it looked almost identical to my stock as in shape.

It's a good thing they were the same shape... It would suck to have an oval or square pulley 0,o

am i the only one that sees something wrong here?

he has a hifi2000 and a 220 amp alt and hes having problems. those amp dont even put out 1500 rms. i know several people who have those on stock electrical just fine. there is diffidently something wrong here. maybe bad ground?

How do you know his "220" amp alt actually outputs 220 amps.

Factory tested. 220amps at 4000rpm

ground is probably my problem...there is no ground wiring, just what is mounted on the motor'.

omg what company is that so i'll make sure i dont get one, 220 amps at 4000 rpm means you have to be driving over 100 mph.

not if your a man and drive a manual. the only reason they made automatics is so women could drive too

op maybe you should just drive everywhere @ 4k rpm.

Lol. Try saying that to my 95 buick skylark with 133k miles on it, original engine.

Lol @ drew's comment.

@ Larry Will do the ground upgrade. If the problem still is consistent, I will upgrade my alternator, then add another battery....would want to get the expensive stuff out of the way. - My battery has 4 different grounds. 1 1/0 gauge ground and 3 4 gauge ground
