Real96SS
So I was trying to tune my 3500's with my DD-1 when I noticed that when I turn the gain up around half the amps start making this weird clicking noise. The sounds coming from around the same area as the gain control.Anybody have any idea what this is or is it normal? It happens on both amps. hrtbrk1
Could be dirt. Try using an air blower to clean it off.
Real96SS
Nope wasn't dirt.It only does it when the truck is not on so Im guessing it's got something to do with the power that the amps need. Dangrebel
I have a feeling that low voltage may create the buzz. Quote 1999 GMC Yukon, 6 PSI platform 5 18's, 4th order bandpass by BHE, Taramps,
MrSkippyJ
with speakers disconnected right? I can't imagine voltage being a problem without a load on the amplifier. CJ18
All if my dc Amps do this when I am tuning them and I get the gain up to high and start to clip. I confirmed this with the dd1 and scope.
BeAlLsTaR13
from what i have read, that noise is generally related to clipping Quote Team Sundown Audio**CURRENT** -- 2012 Scion tC Build Click Here **OLD** -- 2002 Pontiac Grand AM Build Click Herecheck them out, slap me a comment2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2.2l 4 cylinder ecotec.-------------------------------------------------------------------Head Unit - Alpine CDA-9887Subs - 2x Z 12 v.2s - v.3 + NS Soft partsAmplifier - Sundown Audio SAZ-3500DEnclosure - 3.33 Cubes tuned to 34.66hzFront Stage - JBL P660c 6.5" ComponentsRear Deck - Powerbass 4xl 6.5" Mid-RangeFront Stage Amplifier - Sundown Audio SAX-100.4DWires - Kicker Hyperflex 1/0, KnuKonceptz 1/0, Knu 4 and 8 Gauge, Kicker RCAsElectrical - 275 AMP DC Power H/O Alternator, XS Power S3400, XS Power D2700Videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeAILsTaR13-------------------------------------------------------------------
Real96SS
Yeah guys my deck Sub outs took a crap and were distorting like crazy and that's another reason the amp was doing that and everytime I checked the speakers were not connected only the dd 1 Quote Vehicle 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche(Co-Co) DNX9980HD 6 Team Fi 15's(King Edition) 3 DC 9k's 8 Nendo PWX 8's 4 Custom Steg 4" Super Tweeters 1 DC Audio 175.4 1 DC Audio 90.4 Rockford 360.3 3 DC Power 370xp Alts(Externally regulated) 21 D1600's 2 D4800's All SMD RCA's AudioTechnix Deadner Viper Alarm My YouTube- http://www.youtube.c...NG?feature=mhee Link to buildlog- http://www.stevemead...4-15s-2-dc-9ks/ Link to UBL- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/165059-ublkings-avalanchecoco-new-build-starting8-king-edition-15-team-fis-in-a-wallyes-a-wall/
