412 CVX Posted January 17, 2012 Report Share Posted January 17, 2012 like the title says, i'm bored... i feel like designing a 4th order or two just for teh shits and giggles, cuz i'm a nerd and i enjoy this kind of stuff, and for some feedback. so if you guys could give me the following info: max dimensions (please list your dims in terms of HxWxD) model and number of sub(s) preferred ratio of sealed to ported (if any) preferred ported tuning frequency (if any) i'll post a teaser picture and a sketchup model link here for criticism. i should probably note that i'm a broke college kid, so i don't have bass box pro, i'm using torres calc for tuning. so i suppose expectations should be a little lower lol. thanks all! update box 1: DC level 4 15. 2:1 ratio, 18"h,24"w,44"l (minus the port), 52hz tuning, port is 12.5" wide, 7 inches tall, 9 inches long. Box 2: 4 Fi Q 12's, 2:1 ratio, 14.5"h x 38"w x 55"l (minus 4" external port), 45hz tuning, port is 8"h x 16"w x 11"l. sketchup link 2 Box 3: single level 5 12, double layered all around. this box is a little too complicated for me to explain.. sketchup link 3 Box 4: 3 sundown z v.3 12's, 2:1 ratio, external dimensions 32.25w x 20.0h x 36.0d, tuned to 52 hz, port is 18.5 high, 5.5 wide, 6 deep. there's a place for a little lexan window to see the inside of the enclosure for aesthetic reasons, and/or to access the subs if need be. sketchup link 4 Box 5: 2 DC level 4 12's. bout a 1:1.5 ratio. 15h x 36w x 27d without external port. one has a slot port, one has an 8 inch tube, both tuned to about 48 hz. the sealed portion is basically a 30x60x90 triangle. sketchup link 5 Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.
