sundownz
I am incredibly excited about the frames... it opens up a whole new level of designs that I couldn't / wouldn't do before due to frame limitations Quote - Jacob Fuller - Owner, Sundown Audio - Sundown Audio on FACEBOOK - Please DO NOT PM ME -- use my email address --
LoudBimmer
How about different color carbon fiber dust caps?
turbovandy11
will the new frames allow for less mounting depth for the subs?
corey0928
I think (could be wrong) jacob said he wont be doing different types of dust caps a long time ago. Plus i like the plain black on white caps. Cant wait to see the new stuff this year!
sundownz
will the new frames allow for less mounting depth for the subs? No, they are the complete opposite... they are big massive frames. The shallowest sub I intend to make is the SD-2 line -- based on the 4-spoke which is one of the shallowest "conventional" frames available. Once I am done making the products have the most functional / performance value then I may consider some cosmetic options down the line. sundownz
2) New Sundown baskets in 10/12/15 sizes. I can't show off the renderings yet until my ornamental patent application is in... but think at LEAST as much clearance as the "Eclipse" baskets AND even stronger. 18s will definitely not make it for 2012... but are on the road-map for 2013. This will allow me to make the NS v.3 in 12s for music applications. These will be used on everything larger than the SA line.** -- With the baskets come all new spiders' date=' cones, and surrounds. Some pretty sick stuff... you guys will like it.[/quote'] On this subject... I forgot to add that I am designing / tooling an adapter for the 18" 6-spoke to tide me over until our 18" tooling is done that will support the same spider size as our new 15" frame (257mm). So we can start making even higher excursion 18s this year as well Quote - Jacob Fuller - Owner, Sundown Audio - Sundown Audio on FACEBOOK - Please DO NOT PM ME -- use my email address --

I haven't seen much talk about the SD line since they came out. Am I the only one that has done (not finished) an install with the SD line?
