So you thought that clean wave was good to go - (assuming you used a scope to begin with :P )

I admit, in the past, I would have let this wave slide by, especially if i was using a handheld like the TPI 440. Love the TPI but it would take a much better o-scope to even begin to see what the DD-1 see's. It looks VERY clean! No clipping! it is indeed still distorted though. :peepwall:

Good video. Glad I have mine and just tuned someone else's ride this weekend. Wish I had recorded his reaction. Sounds like he may be buying both the DD-1 and CC-1 soon since he does all of his friends installs

Thats crazy....if a person with a trained eye who has done it a thousand times can accidentally let a clipped signal get by them......imagine what the tens of thousands of all us novices have let slide. We are all really lucky to have such an accurate device, thats inexpensive, and more precise than an instrument ten times the cost.

Thanks for bringing these pioneering devices to the car audio industry Steve!!! :drinks:

Seriously cant wait to pick one of these up !

Do it! I just tuned another members car this weekend and we found out he was was shorting himself a good 10-15% of his potential power by setting it by ear/eye!

Just thought I would show what the distortion is for those not quite understanding what Tony is showing. This is the track available for download via youtube link, FYI

1000hz tone with 3f/odd-order harmonic distortion (f=fundamental frequency of 1000hz)
