I noticed you did surface mounting on the screws. Did you ever think about doing it where you have the hole, wire into the hole, then a bolt to hold it in. I even thought of the way I would go about to do it like that. My biggest obstacle was that I had already bought my aluminum and didn't get a piece thick enough to do it that way. By the way... This brings me to another point. I saw on your thread where you bought his aluminum off eBay. Here's what I do. You may find this helpful in the future. Google "Aluminum Distribution (the name of your city)". You will get a listing. Then call them and ask if they have a scrap bin you can buy from. I use a place called Trident here in Houston. For $75 I get to walk out with 33 pounds of aluminum. I get quite the assortment. I have 1/4", 3/8's, 1/2" and even a piece of 3/4". The last time I went, there was exec a 3" thick piece in there. It would have probably been the whole 33 pounds by itself and it would have more than likely made my router cry so I left it there, but I think you get my point. It's a great resource. I'm making my fair share of mistakes throughout the process, but the fact that I'm just doing it for fun has given me the freedom to take my time and do it right even if I had to redo things. I still have a very long way to go, but I'm still enjoying myself. Here's the progress: Not much to see, I know. Today we took care of little things so there are no pictures. SOOOO SOOOOORRRRYYYY! Here's yesterdays progress. I spent some time cleaning up the lines between the two panels. TOMORROW IS MY FIRST WRAP DAY!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!! You should see some vinyl tomorrow. Unless something goes horribly wrong I should be able to get the back end wrapped. I also need to put the finishing touches on the panel I didn't take pictures of today beofe I wrap it too.
