sprkn_ranger
I'd sand it down and then use filler to make sure it's smooth and flat, but I go overboard a lot. Lol. IanJohnson
resin itself adds no strength. it would help a little reinforcement and reduce flex Quote Duel Sa-8 V.2 D2 Sub Enclosure 2001 Pontiac Grand am Head Unit - OEM Processor - RF 3sixty.2 Subs - RE Audio SXX12D4 Amplifier - Kicker ZX1000.1 Mids & Highs- Rockford Fosgate Power T2652-S Rockford Fosgate Power T1693 Mids & Highs Amp - Rockford Fosgate Power T400-4 Wiring - 1/0 AWG, 4 AWG, 8 AWG Alternator - Stock Batteries - non ext Box- Absolute PSEB12BK
MrSkippyJ
resin itself adds no strength. it would help a little reinforcement and reduce flex resin by itself will not reduce flex. you need to add mat to resin to get any kind of strength at all. Resin by itself will do a couple things; help seal the wood, if sanded it will smooth the wood and can make it easily paintable. If you are adding resin only to add strength, you ain't doing it right! myn
So we're saying that fiberglass is stronger then MDF? If this is a concern why not built it out of birch? More internal bracing?
