Which Is Better High Def. Blu-ray Or Hddvd

hopefully i can put this here, i dont know what other people to ask lol. if thread needs to be moved sorry for the inconvenience.

alright my parents are doin a theater room and bought a hd projector and blu-ray/hddvd player. they want to know which is better concerning the dvd's. so my question is which is better, blu-ray or HDdvd

To my knowledge Blue ray is a type of HD DVD, and Im not certain if one is better than the other...

IF you have the HDMI hookups you can definately tell the difference between regular dvds and blueray

yes, they are spending like 100 bucks on an hdmi cable. they want the best lol. i got to pick the surround sound. dayton 12". wanted a shiva or tempest and build my own but they wouldnt spend 170 on the sub alone lol.

so yeah, we are using an HDMI cable. does that help any, ill read those urls. thanks

the only tangible difference between blu-ray and hd is that blu-ray media has about twice as much storage space. Whether or not something looks better depends on hardware and how the developers choose to take advantage of the extra space. For example ps3 games CAN look superior because the disc has the capacity for higher-textured maps for games, so everything looks more real. There is only one question....can the ps3 hardware process such bulky textures.

alright my interpritation of the "better link" was that blue ray is better. only downfall is the thinner protective cover thing on the cd. if anyothers read it is that what it sounds like. thanks alot guys ur alot of help!
