uhoh_45
45's do not always add db threaded rod is a good strong more expensive support to having wood supports Were can you purchase these rods from, and I no I see most people running them through the top of there box, but wat about the bottom, wat goes on the bottom , meaning the floor??? Reason I'm asking because the box wouldn't sit level with the floor rite. in my wall build i braced from bottom to top and front to back i used 3/16" plate on bottom with some nuts welded to it and then counter sunk the 3/16" plate into the wood to make it level more found here R.I.P! BassJunkie
45's are sometimes worthless. They're better for box bracing than directing air imo. There have been tests done to show a loss with some 45s but thats probably due to a loss in airspace. Yes, threaded steel rod will be stronger than wood bracing if used correctly. You could always put wood around them to make the box taller so the allthread wouldn't make the box sit crooked, as well as counter sink the bolt. Many ways around this issue. 1986 C20 Suburban 9 American Bass XFL 15's B2 M1MKII 14v XS Power Batteries Maxwell Caps Acoustical energy is free. BassJunkie
I use 3/4" personally, if you can find/afford bigger then go bigger. Bigger rod means more expensive nuts/washers though too. 1986 C20 Suburban 9 American Bass XFL 15's B2 M1MKII 14v XS Power Batteries Maxwell Caps Acoustical energy is free. kingsuv
3/4 is the smallest I will go. I have had issues with smaller rod resonating Also if you build your box correctly, you won't need 45's for added strength. Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I see eveybody always says if the box is built correctly , but wat makes boxes so different .... I see you build boxes, if you were to build a box for three niteshade 15"s in a 10 cube box after displacements with two 8 inch aero ports tuned to 33.
