2004 GTO... bagged on CCW's... ever evolving...

Recommended Posts

Hmm long time no update. Not much changed audiowise. Water got in my door again and killed my Infinity 6.5s... So I am now running some 6.5 Silverflutes and love them.

The body work is done on the car. It is fully bagged. It got posted by S3 magazine, Stance:nation, Slammedenuff?, Canibeat and a few other big car pages this year in coverage from shows. I need to get some sort of new wheels whether that is step lipping these wheels or getting something else I am not sure.

I also got a grip royal red leather steering wheel and gforce1320 hub adapter. I now have a red anodized nrg quick release for more scenepoints.

H2oi:

So now some more of update stuff.

Test fitted some 18s: the rear is not all the way down it will rest fender lip to quarter panel with the right width wheels.

And the wheels I am contemplating running next year are all over the place: All I know is I am going from 17x8's to 18x10's and 18x11.5's.

CCW LM5T's (kind of want to do something other than these as they have been on a GTO owned by a friend before) this car was my buddy, Jake's car.

I can't stand this style of GTO. I think pontiac did an injustice to the GTO name by making this abomination. I think GM wasted good LS motors in powering these lifeless boring nothing sets it apart from any other people mover fails of an automobile. I've got no love for the bbs wheels and can't stand "stanced" cars in general.

BUT GOD DAMN I LOVE YOUR DEDICATION TO THIS CAR.

I'm a car guy through and through and it was fun to read your enthusiasm for this car, and any custom work is cool in my books.

DD makes some badass 6.5" subwoofers. They take barely any airspace, I think you could fit an appropriate box under the rear deck and in between the gas tank. Go with four 6.5"s in the rear deck? Just a thought.

Thanks for sharing your build.

This build is awesome! I'm planning on getting myself a B5 S4 Avant sometime soon, and once it's been built up a little bit, I really want to make the drive cross country to SoWo or H2oi.

H2oi is the one I really wanna go to. I've read that it was a little out of control this year and that cars were being towed for the dumbest things, so who knows if it'll even be around when I have the chance to go.

yea.. ppl were being towed for shit like "excessive camber," and stuff like that. But then again, quite a "few" people got a bit rowdy lol

  • 4 months later...

whale whale whale... I haven't updated this in a minute....

Lets see what have I changed.... The wheels 3 times... decided I want to put a decent stereo back in the car, I put a rear window visor on...

Now for audio updates... I still like my drivers in my front stage but Mr. Ih8punkrok made me a good deal on his Zapco 650.6 when we were hanging out the other day so that will be powering my front stage with the possibility of maybe a proper mid added. Also my brother was helping my aunt and uncle move some furniture and they offered him my cousins old sub stage. Which included an L7 and a ZX1500.1 so I am going to run that amp with some sort of 12 in my trunk. We just put a pre-fab spl oriented box in my brother's car (gto, audiopipe1500, AB XFL) and removed the stupid low tuned truck box he had. It peaked in the 20s in his car... So I figure the same power on a similar sub in the same box should be plenty for me to be happy again. We were thinking a soundqubed HDS312.

Here are some parts I have waiting to go on the car: ARP extended studs, Whiteline offset topmounts (camber adjustable), adaptec custom spacers, spider style led turn signals, LED puddlelights, new LED fog light bulbs, muteki forged steel chrome lug nuts, and lastly a black leather Nardi deep corn steering wheel.

Anyway here are some pictures of the car:

1st wheel change: BMW m-parallels in e38 7 series specs:

37c8a35d109eda1db2b048a44c17832b.jpg

Next thing notable I did was put a rear window visor on. It is originally made for an FA5 civic but I trimmed the edges and contour is perfect for my rear window:

15515906723_6ab01b7ff5_h.jpg

Then I made stockers fit on the car with 1.5" spacers to clear the bags in the front:

16322089945_ba561865fb_h.jpg

And then I balled out on some CCW LM5T's... they are 18x10 et 20 (8mm spacer) & 18x11.5 et 35 I am stretching 215/35/18s on the front and 245/35/18s in the rear

A normal issue with gto's is rubbing on inner tubs so i get the beat the hell out of my tubs to make these clear and the car to tuck lower. This was just from driving around this parking garage.

Stretching?

That's a blow out waiting to happen. Its your shit, but it looks ridiculous. And its not safe.

stretching tires doesn't really scare me, I have had stretched tires on the car for 3 years, but realistically I really only plan to run these for shows and the drives to said shows. I do have stockers with R-compounds which I will probably run daily because it will be more fun than dodging pot holes... Plus rolling on stockers through the winter has made me appreciate not being noticed by other car "enthusiasts".
